Morton's

Mr. T is  a steak connoisseur. Where I love my wine and chocolate. Mr. A loves steak.  Prime Rib, tenderloin. Steak may or may not be his middle name. I love going out to eat. Love it. I love it even more when I get to get dressed up and go out on the town for a fabulous dinner  We had been to Morton’s a few years ago in Minneapolis and we were excited to go again. We hadn’t been to a steak house in quite some time. We arrive and we were greeted and they took our coats.  Following that the hostess said Jeff would seat us, then Melissa, then the hostess ended up seating us. We weren’t thrilled with our seats, right in front of the kitchen where the chef was and all the waiters.  But that certainly wasn’t going to rain on my parade.  When we sat down we got bread and water right away, the bread warm and the butter was soft. I find nothing more irritating when I’m famished and in a “bread” mood and I can’t smear a bit of butter.  It took a bit of time for our waitress to come and greet us. I was itching for some Pinot Grigio finally our waitress came to our table and asked what we could would like to drink, prior to offering us the wine list. We requested the wine list and I got my Pinot Grigio, and Mr. A chose Cabernet.    We knew what we were having, tenderloin, medium with potatoes and the hot chocolate cake.  As unhealthy as it was, I skimped on my veggies for the meal.  We started off with the crab cake to share. The time between each course was perfect.  There is nothing more that I cannot stand when your food is rushed (insert any chain restaurant).  It was presented perfectly with chunks of crab that melted in your mouth. Our steaks arrived and were perfectly done and were fabulous.  The Bearnaise sauce only enhanced our steak’s appeal.  To top it off we had the Hot Chocolate cake which was incredible. Think chocolate oozing out of a warm cake with vanilla ice cream to top it off.  Does life get any better?

The food I give 4.5. Romance 3 and ambiance 4.
